BECOME A HOST PARTNER

SHAPE TOMORROW’S TALENT TODAY

Host organisations play a critical role in creating meaningful work opportunities for young South Africans. They are key implementation partners in the YES ecosystem, providing the day-to-day environment where youth gain skills, confidence, experience, and exposure to real work.

Youth are the primary beneficiaries of corporate investment into the YES Programme. Host partners are also important beneficiaries because they receive sponsored youth talent to support their workforce, strengthen capacity, and potentially build future employees through absorption.

Through this model, corporate clients help transform the lives of young people while also supporting micro, small, and growing businesses that need additional capacity and talent.

Building Confidence Through Workplace Exposure

“Hosting candidates strengthened our commitment to mentorship and talent development.”

For Signa Opportunity host partner Shudu Connections, becoming a host partner was driven by a passion for youth development, skills transfer, and creating meaningful workplace opportunities for young professionals.

Over the past three years, Shudu Connections has partnered with Signa Opportunity to support candidates through practical workplace exposure and mentorship. The organisation describes the experience as positive, professional, and impactful, with candidates bringing enthusiasm, adaptability, and a willingness to learn to daily operations and projects across the business.

One of the most rewarding moments for the team was seeing a candidate grow in confidence, independence, and professionalism during the programme. Shudu Connections also observed meaningful development in candidates’ communication, technical skills, and overall workplace readiness, reinforcing the importance of workplace exposure in preparing young people for long-term career success.

_____

Inclusive Hosting that Grows People and Businesses

“Signa Opportunity ensures that host partners are equipped with the necessary tools and training to host candidates professionally.”

For M&E SS, partnering with Signa Opportunity was driven by a shared commitment to youth empowerment and business growth. Through the programme, the organisation gained access to talented candidates who added value to daily operations while receiving meaningful workplace experience and mentorship.

M&E SS noted that candidates were instrumental in assisting the business to grow through their skills and talents, demonstrating the value that young people can bring when given meaningful workplace exposure and support.

One of the partnership’s most impactful moments was successfully hosting a candidate living with a speech impairment. The experience encouraged the team to strengthen inclusivity, communication, and diversity management within the workplace. The candidate went on to complete their training and obtain a Diploma in Information Technology, specialising in Software Development.

Today, M&E SS views hosting as more than creating opportunities for youth. It is also a meaningful way for businesses to grow, develop future talent, and contribute to long-term workforce development.
